SkyDog Routers
Skydog routers are advanced small business routers which build in the ability to do content filtering. Therefore, changing the DNS server alone isn't enough to distribute this to the end users connecting to the router. Instead, OpenDNS will need to be added as a custom DNS server for filtering and then added to the filtering schedule (per network).
1. Within the filters section you'll see the following option (and that the default is that it's using the SkyDog services for DNS). Adding and applying the custom OpenDNS DNS settings should allow you to use OpenDNS from within these content settings going forward.
2. Once OpenDNS is added as a Custom DNS Service, you can now pull up the filtering settings. To begin, click Edit Schedule under the Filtering tab. In this case, OpenDNS filtering is applying during the Brown times as configured on this example. Select this OpenDNS setting added in step 1 and "paint" it over the hours you wish to apply OpenDNS filtering. In this case, red is no network access at all and blue is the default. To set up OpenDNS, paint over the filter times with OpenDNS as seen in step 3.
Step 3: Confirm that OpenDNS is "painted" over the times and days you wish to apply filtering. In this sample case, brown is OpenDNS and red is no network access (overnight).
Okay, what's next?
