When I type chrome://flags in the address bar I just get a blank page. How do I fix that?

Try with chrome:flags (without the //) or about://flags or about:flags to see if one works.

If you're out of luck, see if you still have a very old version needing upgrade.  Or your browser installation may be broken, and you need to reinstall.

DIdn't work, but no on both counts-It is a brand new chromebook manufactured 04/2014 with chrome updated 8/14

Then you had to refer to the support for the Chromebook or Chrome OS, whoever supplied your device.  Your browser not working as expected isn't an OpenDNS problem.

I can get to the page but can not find the Experimental static ip configuration.

Yeah, this is quite different from version to version and from OS to OS.  I get (grayed out):

Experimental static ip configuration Chrome OS
Enables static ip configuration. May not work.
Sorry, this experiment is not available on your platform.

How do I add this device into my OpenDNS umbrella to manage it after I have the DNS working

The above wasn't for Umbrella, but for the home versions, so your subsequent question does not apply.  I would suggest to open a support ticket or to use the other communication channels coming with Umbrella.

Thanks so much!  This was great and so easy to do!  I had been trying all day long to figure this out and I couldn't get online all day so I used my desktop which already had OpenDNS on it and found these instructions for the chromebook.   Now everything is working great!  Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

This does not appear to be for Chrome OS, but the browser. I could not find the settings anywhere to configure them on my Chromebook. Oops. I just found it. Reading the entire directions would help.
