THE MANUAL:

This document is based on the D-Link DIR-860L document (click here to download PDF)

  1.  Log into your D-Link router by typing http://dlinkrouter.local./ or http://192.168.0.1 in your browser's address bar. (page 26 in manual)
  2. Click INTERNET in the left menu and you'll be brought to the setup page (page 27)
  3. Choose the service type that you're setup with (Dynamic, PPPOE, etc) and find the Primary and Secondary DNS. Use the IP addresses 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220

    NOTE:

    If your service is already configured, then you should only have to change the Primary and Secondary DNS fields (image below).

  4. Save your settings and the router will reboot. 

  5. To test your settings

Okay, now what?

 

To ensure that OpenDNS is working properly for you, please flush your browser and DNS cache by using the steps below:

Next, let's test your settings by visiting http://welcome.opendns.com, you should be greeted with a Welcome message.
