Troubleshooting Amazon Kindle Fire Problems
- First confirm that the steps listed in the following document (https://support.opendns.com/hc/en-us/articles/228009127-Amazon-Kindle-Fire) have been used to configure your Kindle Fire.
- If you are still having problems the most likely cause is generally the Kindles Silk Internet browser which uses a proxy and that is problematic. The following line from the Wikipedia article of the browser supplies more details on the browser: "Amazon Silk is a web browser developed by Amazon for Kindle Fire and Fire Phone. It uses a split architecture where some of the processing is performed on Amazon's servers to improve webpage loading performance. It is based on the open source Chromium project that uses the Blink engine." (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_Silk).
- The following link (https://www.technipages.com/kindle-fire-silk-browser-alternatives) covers regarding using a different browser with your Kindle. NOTE: Unfortunately OpenDNS currently has not tested a Kindle Fire using a different browser.
