I recently changed to TDS fiber optic TV and internet service. I dutifully changed the DNS servers in the TDS-supplied router to match the OpenDNS servers to keep my home filtered. However, doing that lost my TV guides, On-Demand, and DVR since those were set to use TDS' DNS servers.
I am wondering if it is possible to add a slave wireless router to the system that will pick up all the various wireless traffic (phones, tablets, computers, etc.) while leaving the TDS router (master) to handle the TV communication. Could I then give the slave router a different DNS than the master in order to filter those connections and not the ones going directly to the master?
I am worried that the master router will override the slave's DNS settings.
Thank you for your help.
