    Is it because I am using this router as a access point behind my AT&T dsl router?

    Copy & paste the complete plain text output of the following diagnostic command to here:

    nslookup -type=txt debug.opendns.com.

    Server: 192.168.1.254
    Address: 192.168.1.254#53

    ** server can't find debug.opendns.com.: NXDOMAIN

    The device 192.168.1.254 is not configured to use OpenDNS or ignores your configuration.  What device is this?

    Ah yes, this AT&T device clearly cannot have Netgear LPC.  If you can configure DNS server addresses on it, then you can still use OpenDNS Home with it which in principle provides the same parental controls as Netgear LPC.

    Else, if you insist in using Netgear LPC, your traffic had to go through the Netgear router too:

    Computer --> Netgear R8000 --> AT&T U-verse router --> Internet

    There is no guarantee that this construction will work this way, but worth a trial.  It may be that you have to switch the AT&T device from NAT mode to bridged mode if you can.

    Also...

    "Do a google search and nothing blocked."

    Was this within Google where nothing was blocked?  If so, didn't you block Google?  Nothing will be blocked in Google if you don't block Google, of course.  And currently nothing will be blocked on your Mac because you don't use OpenDNS at all on your Mac according to your command output.
