Each user have different parental setting- can we do that

You cannot have different "profiles" with OpenDNS Home.  They see only your one public IP address from your network, fortunately nothing about your network internals.  Time based schedules are supported neither.

No comment about your (unspecified) router.  If it is a Netgear router (you posted unter "Netgear Live Parental Contols"), then you can configure schedules.  And you can have different profiles in form of bypass accounts.

Yeah, this really sucks.  I bought an expensive router because it supposedly supported parental controls, only to find it was just OpenDNS.  Not nearly enough parental controls.  Terrible for NETGEAR to advertise as such.

What else do you expect from parental controls?

Our old router also enabled me to set different time permissions for each of our children. It also didn't require a bypass account for us parents. I am not happy with the netgear routers features & would recommend a Cisco /linksys router over netgear. The cisco router didn't require online login to manage the parental settings & had more features.

I had a router that would let me set access by MAC. But that isn't your problem. It is Netgear. They really got me with false advertising!

You still did not answer my question.  And you didn't say what your problems or requirements are.  So posting here is rather useless, because nobody can help.

    Here's the problem:
I want to be able to make it so my son (Joe) can't access the internet at all during specific times. Old router, I'd log in, go to Access Permissions, click Joe, and then simply set the time limit so that the router would not permit that user to get online from midnight to 6 a.m. I could set separate times and access information for his brother, Sam, as well. Different from Joe's access rules. And with that software/router, what I did to Joe and Sam's access didn't affect any other users, at all, on the router. Just Joe and Sam's use.

I can't do that with my new router's software or parental permissions. I can "pause" his internet manually... then I have to unpause it .... manually. And I can't unpause it manually unless his device is ON and attempting to connect.

Now? I can create a filter that blocks EVERYTHING for ALL users (including our cellphones) using the router, but I can't specify, EASILY, that Joe can't access the internet from midnight to 6 a.m.

Sure, sure, I can create a "bypass" account, but that's more steps, new log-ins to program into all our parent devices (cellphones, laptops and yes, even PCs). I can't just select Joe's device image on the screen, in the control software, and limit his use, and only his, use.

Does that answer your question? I think it details my problems and requirements quite clearly.

If not, to reiterate even more simply:
    - problem: I cannot easily limit ONE user's access
    - requirement: to limit ONE user's access by clicking that user's device, setting a specific time limit for access
    - requirement: to not interfere with any other user's access when I set limits for ONE person, one device
    - requirement: to not have to set up a "bypass" account for other users (we already have everything programmed to access the router/internet)

    @lomano

Your concerns are not related to Live Parental Controls (LPC - powered by OpenDNS) but to certain router functions to restrict internet access e.g. during certain times.  You have reached the wrong forum here.

The correct places to raise these are:
    https://community.netgear.com/t5/WiFi-Routers/ct-p/home-wifi-routers
    https://www.netgear.com/support/

    I also want:

    - limit ONE user's access
    - limit ONE user's access by clicking that user's device, setting a specific time limit for access
    - requirement: to not interfere with any other user's access when I set limits for ONE person, one device
    - requirement: to not have to set up a "bypass" account for other users (we already have everything programmed to access the router/internet)

Why can't Netgear add this ability? I may go back to my old router that had the same ability.

"Why can't Netgear add this ability?"

    Ask Netgear, not OpenDNS.
