I asked support and they said to ask here and get others on board with this request. My proposal is to add a few more fine tuned categories to the Web Content Filtering part of Open DNS.
Sites with fake news as their primary purpose or just bogus rumors but put themselves as looking legit - This does not include any religious stuff that is under religious category already. Nor does it include controversial stuff from new sites or political parties but is where the news is from sites that may look like CNN but are not
Where the article comes across like a news site but is actually trying to sell you something. You know the type -- the economy will end the world as we know it and read this.. watch this...
Click Bait Sites:
Any site that has click bait ads and then sends you to one of those sites whos sole purpose make you read a page or picture at a time - working up your endomorphies with "what will I get next curiosity" so you press the NEXT button.. and see more ads. Very annoying, time wasters. examples:
And Tapoola.com is an ad driver for many of these sites
Any site that automatically plays the videos when you open the page - This category would be best for mobile wireless users who are restricted bandwidth. For example Business Insider is to blame for playing videos without your consent.
There are plenty of sites in these categories. All of them waste our precious time and bandwidth. I would really like to have these categories as there are only 50 blockable black list sites at the mmoment and I have used them up.
