Netgear Genie Parental controls

I'm trying to access my Parental Control Settings, but Netgear Genie isn't reading that I'm connect to the router. Even though I'm connected through ethernet as well as wifi. It keeps giving me the error even after I refresh after reconnecting to the router.

  As a quick search in these forums will tell you, there are literally dozens of posts asking this very same thing. There are also FAQ's addressing this situation.

  They all end one way "open a support ticket with OpenDNS"

  For me, it is to return the router instead of waiting to open another support ticket that will take it past the return time.  If the features actually worked or were made more user friendly, this would be a great router.  I cannot get LPC to work, and my Internet connection keeps getting dropped.  I have quite a bit of technical knowledge, and this just is not working.  Good luck with the open support ticket.  If they get it worked out in the future, I would be interested in checking this out.  For now, I need to put the $ toward something that does today.

  Did you try OpenDNS Home with this router, instead of LPC?

  I have returned the router.  I think I tried both.  Is there a good tutorial on how to set this up?  I may try again.  Perhaps the router was defective.

  Tutorial for what?  As you have returned the router, what tutorial are you looking for?

  I had tried both. The error messages I would get is that LPC could not find the router, it would not recognize my username/password for Opendns,etc. Speed on router was noticeably improved vs old e4200, but Internet would all of a sudden not show connected. This is for 12 mbs connection. Really like the features of this router if I can get it to work. Thank you for links. May try different model or possibly same as other may have had defect.
