Looking more for some clarification on the "prosumer" version of OpenDNS/Umbrella.
I know that in the enterprise version of Umbrella -- there is generally some DNS proxy that then forwards the request either locally or to the Umbrella resolver. This allows for granular logging on who is making what request, etc.
Because this visibility exists, I was looking for ways to get "user" level filtering -- based on having the IP address of the host (or in this case, the presence of the Umbrella application).
Use case is this: I have OpenDNS running as a forwarder on my Bind9 setup. I'd like to enforce a fairly strict network access policy for my children, with somewhat looser restrictions for the adults by way of the OpenDNS application "knowing" we're adult users (and on the adult computers). I know that I can take the adult computers out of the DNS chain -- but still would like the malware, etc protection in OpenDNS.
Is this "selective whitelisting of clients" available in the "Prosumer" version of Umbrella -- paying for 2 users?
