    Edit:  Seeing that you have deleted your other questions.

    All your questions are answered in the knowledge base.  You just must use the search function and read it instead of keeping other users busy with searching KB articles for you.

    You can also try to obtain another IP address from your ISP by disconnecting from and reconnecting to the internet.

    "I put in the Family Filter DNS address in my router settings, I'm not sure if this is causing the problem."

    No, your issue is unrelated, and it is not a problem to use FamilyShield with the dashboard.  However, you may not be able to whitelist what is being blocked by FamilyShield.

    I did do a search, spent 20 minutes trying to work out the problem, and could not find any answers. 

    I solved it by doing a factory reset on the router...

    Factory reset was the wrong approach, definitely.  Just switching off and on would have done the trick.
