LPC and Netgear.OpenDNS.com do not work
There are two problems I am encountering: (1) Logging in with the admin credentials to Parent Controls through Genie desktop app fails; and (2) the Netgear.OpenDNS.com is still active, however, it no longer filters as expected.
In the Genie App, the admin credentials work for both the "Router Settings" button and "Network Map" button. However, when applied to "Parent Controls" button, it fails. The message states to make sure that the router firmware supports Live Parental Controls. This problem started when the Genie App was updated, up to that point everything was working fine.
In the Web Genie, the admin credentials work. When the "Parent Controls" button is pressed, it opens the Netgear.OpenDNS.com site. (This behaviour contrasts with the Genie App.)
The following has been attempted but with no improvement:
- deleting the Genie App and re-installing the app (but this didn't clear any app data)
- manually configuring the DNS in the Internet settings and flushing the DNS resolver
- Resetting and re-configuring the D6300 router
- I tried using the OpenDNS settings 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 and flushing the DNS. This accesses the OpenDNS service but it doesn't provide access to the Netgear.OpenDNS.com service.
Since the update of the Genie App, there is no longer a connection between the DNS settings in Parent Controls (in Netgear Router and Genie App) and the settings created in the Parental Control webpages on Netgear.OpenDNS.com. Accessing LPC is not possible.
Question:
- How do I perform a clean uninstall of the Genie App in OSX (High Sierra)? - which removes the app data.
- What are the DNS settings used by Netgear.OpenDNS.com? DNS settings 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 do not work. Is Netgear.OpenDNS.com still operational?
- Given the problems above I cannot access LPC? Any suggestions?

The first thing: Stop using LPC and OpenDNS Home in parallel. These services are incompatible, and you always will get inconsistent results.
Stopping OpenDNS Home:
- Delete any network at https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/
Your LPC dashboard is only at https://netgear.opendns.com/ - Do not run an Updater. LPC works based on device ID, not based on IP address.
- Do not configure any DNS server addresses anywhere. This is done by LPC.
For using LPC, follow only https://kb.netgear.com/25687/
Do not do anything else. - Delete any network at https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/

Thanks for the reply. I guess I should have been more clear - I am not attempting to use LPC and OpenDNS in parallel. I was attempting to use one or the other. I cannot get LPC to work (on its own). Netgear.OpenDNS no longer works since updating to the newest version of Genie. So I am left without any ability to filter using either LPC xor Netgear.OpenDNS.
Given the information available it appears Netgear is encouraging clients to move away from Netgear.OpenDNS to LPC. There a number of feature differences between the two and I thought to give LPC a try.
However, in attempting to configure for LPC, I cannot get it to work because of the warning message about not having a suitable router driver. The drivers were updated but accessing LPC was still not possible. The most that can be done is access a Netgear website providing general information about LPC.
Given the above, I am left with re-attempting to get Netgear.OpenDNS working again. For that I need to have the DNS settings for Netgear.OpenDNS. I can locate the DNS settings for OpenDNS (which does work) but I cannot find the DNS settings for Netgear.OpenDNS. Would you happen to know what Netgear.OpenDNS settings are?

Similar or identical problems with LPC have been reported here recently, that it doesn't work anymore since the last updates. I have not seen a solution yet. Your best bet is to raise a support ticket, "Submit a request" above.
