What do you mean by "opening" a domain? Which (specific) pages on the OpenDNS website should this very non-standard behaviour apply to?

BTW, the example you give is not a domain, it is a URL. Although related, the two most definitely are not the same thing.

And why should this non-standard behaviour be applied just because some people are afraid of going to a porn page? What about other categories of domains that might be incorrectly categorized?

The page I’m referring to, is the Domain Tagging page - https://community.opendns.com/domaintagging.

I know the difference between a URL and a domain very clearly, but I might have been misunderstood.

On the Domain Tagging page, there are the following columns - The Domain column, followed by the Tag and “Is this an appropriate tag?” columns.

What I meant was, to make the decision whether or not the tag is appropriate, users should be able to easily see the previous tags (Approved/Rejected) for said domain.

So, the right way to go around this (in my opinion) would be to have clicking the domain name in the Domain column refer you to the domain’s page on OpenDNS.

If after seeing all of it’s current and previous tags, you are still not sure if it’s appropriate or not, you can go to said domain through the URL on it’s page.

This “non-standard” behaviour just helps providing users with more information while being very appropriate.

Another way to give the user more information is by including another column or button, or (slightly mobile unfriendly) a hoverable item, but I believe just changing the URL of the domain in the Domain column to it’s OpenDNS page instead of it’s homepage would be the best way to go, user experience wise.

I see, you have overseen the untitled column with the notepad icon.

"So for example, if someone tagged “apple.com”, It shouldn’t open “https://apple.com", but it should open “https://domain.opendns.com/apple.com"."

Yeah, and yeah!  Just do it instead of requesting here what is already there.
