DNS has nothing to do with Operating Systems like Windows or Linux.  And hardware like modem/router cannot "run the family safe opendns".  This service is solely in the cloud, not on a piece of your hardware.

You can use the dashboard to block additional categories or individual domains not being caught by FamilyShield.  With this OpenDNS cloud service there is no "client that would allow me to tap into my opendns account and adjust what additional sites I needed to block".  You need to run an update client though if you use the dashboard.  This is to keep your IP address information updated at OpenDNS.

Setting up the ddclient for Linux is a lot different from the Windows Version.  Currently I have this set up in my router:

Do I need to get back into my router and change the IP's 208.67.222.123, 208.67.222.123 back to the originals before I can start using the update client?
