I don't think you're doing anything wrong. I think there's a new glitch in the system. I reported something similar yesterday and opened a ticket.

    In your case:

    nytimes.com is categorized as News/Media

You selected Moderate filtering which does not contain News/Media

Therefore nytimes.com should not be blocked. The error message saying 'nytimes.com is already blocked' is incorrect.

Hopefully they address this issue soon.

Thank you for your reply and letting me know I am not missing or doing something wrong. I thought the message was strange along with the fact that the section of text is actually triple repeated within itself right after the bold face font of "You're already blocking..."

I agree. I picked up on the "View" feature for the various preconfigured modes, as you stated it should not be blocked as it is not a selection for the "moderate" mode.

What I was referring to was the fact that I actually added it as an individual domain and then was shown the message. Once I clicked on the option to add it to my personal domain list anyway then the site was blocked as I was expecting it to be.

When adding a domain try typing in the domain address manually as it tends to be less likely to have problems when you do so.

    Thank you Reg Ham,

That is exactly what I was doing and hence why I made my original post. If you read through the above from myself and robodns there seems to be a new glitch in the system as well as some proof reading oversight at the moment.

May I suggest that you create s support request so the problem can be troubleshot completely.

Reg Ham I certainly can but did not see where to do so other than within the community forums. Is there a website form to complete or an email address to open a support ticket on the matter? If so and you could share it with me I will look to submit one. Thank you

I would just point out that the "moderate" filtering level description is deceptive. Despite saying it "Protects against all adult-related sites and illegal activity." it does not block by default the "adult themes" category.
