Manage Individual Domains
Hello, I am new to using OpenDNS and after watching a few YouTube videos I created an account and did a basic configuration for my home network. After testing the three links provided, welcome.opendns orange check mark , internetbadguys blocked and the sudo adult site blocked I then proceeded to Web Content Filtering.
I set configuration to moderate and applied and then went down further to the Manage Individual Domains. To simply test I entered "nytimes.com" and set the drop down to always block and was then prompted with the following message, question:
I was confuswed by this message that poped up as it seems to repeat itself within the displyed text and also I had not blocked nytimes.com being I was just doing so as a test for the first time.
I tried doing the same with rit.edu and same result?
Am I doing something wrong here or am I missing something?
Any guidance and assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I don't think you're doing anything wrong. I think there's a new glitch in the system. I reported something similar yesterday and opened a ticket.
In your case:
nytimes.com is categorized as News/Media
You selected Moderate filtering which does not contain News/Media
Therefore nytimes.com should not be blocked. The error message saying 'nytimes.com is already blocked' is incorrect.
Hopefully they address this issue soon.

Thank you for your reply and letting me know I am not missing or doing something wrong. I thought the message was strange along with the fact that the section of text is actually triple repeated within itself right after the bold face font of "You're already blocking..."
I agree. I picked up on the "View" feature for the various preconfigured modes, as you stated it should not be blocked as it is not a selection for the "moderate" mode.
What I was referring to was the fact that I actually added it as an individual domain and then was shown the message. Once I clicked on the option to add it to my personal domain list anyway then the site was blocked as I was expecting it to be.
