Dynamic IP updater at router
Apologies if the answer is here, I wasn't able to find a solution after searching. I use Open DNS and, in the past, have had a device running the Dynamic IP Updater app and set my router to disable dynamic DNS. I can no longer keep said device on my home network to run this app and I'd like to set up this capability directly on my router if possible. If I change the settings in my router so that Dynamic DNS is enabled, 1) will this communicate any IP address changes to OpenDNS? and, if so, 2) my options when enabling DDNS are: DynDNS, No-IP, and Custom. If I choose Custom, I am lost on what to enter in the fields that populate:
Dynamic DNS Server:
Request:
User Name:
Password:
Hostname:
My router is a CenturyLink C400XG

Hello,
Unfortunately this information can differ depending on the how the DDNS agent was created. I found this link https://www.centurylink.com/home/help/internet/modems-and-routers/advanced-setup/dynamic-dns.html which may be helpful. As for the custom setting on your router I would suggest that you contact the routers support team at 800-954-1211.
You may want to see if DNS-O-Matic is listed as a option or to use DNS-O-Matic (https://www.dnsomatic.com/) to implement your DDNS service
