Ddns synology

If your Synology device supports DNS-O-Matic or "user defined", then you can use it also for OpenDNS.
You configure OpenDNS as service at https://www.dnsomatic.com/
Then you configure your device to send updates to DNS-O-Matic which again updates OpenDNS for you.
"Or, what are the manual settings for DNS-o-matic"
What do you mean by "manual settings"? The update URL is:
http://updates.dnsomatic.com/nic/update?hostname=HOSTNAME
where HOSTNAME is your OpenDNS network label or all.dnsomatic.com if you want to update more services through DNS-O-Matic. -
sorry for me not being more clear on the question, but thanks for the fast response.
in ddns updater (3rd party synology package) ive this to configure:
Provider:Protocol:Server:Hostname:IP:Wildcard:use wildcardStatic:has a static IP addressCustom:is a 'custom' top-level domainLogin:Password:Confirm Password:MX Hostname:MX Priority:Backup MX:is backup MX for the domainhope you can help me a bit more with this.thanks! -
Yes, these are the fields normally used for the DDNS update API. It would have been better to post a link to the user manual or screen shots.
Whatever, try with this:Provider: DNS-O-Matic
Protocol: dyndns2
Server: updates.dnsomatic.com
Hostname: as I said above already
IP: TBD dynamically by the updater
Wildcard: irrelevant here
Static: irrelevant here
Custom: irrelevant here
Login: Your e-mail address registered with OpenDNS and DNS-O-Matic
Password: Your password for OpenDNS and DNS-O-Matic
The rest (MX fields) is irrelevant here. -
I attach the screenshot for everyone's reference.
for the hostname, you should use all.dnsomatic.com IF You use dnsomatic in conjunction with OpenDDNS, NOIP, etc.
hope it helps.

In case you are wondering which program I used,
you need to download two packages to install manually on synology before it can work.
1. http://www.cphub.net/index.php?id=40&pid=293 Init 3rdparty
2. http://www.cphub.net/index.php?id=40&pid=294 DDNS updater
Have fun!

Thanks, this helped me to set it up on the Synology side of things. My status message in DDNS updater is 'Update successful', however, when I go to opendns.com or dnsomatic it hasn't updated to my IP. Going to dns-o-matic.com I'm getting a "badauth" error.
I used the exact info lightner used in his attached image.
I checked username and password and logged into both opendns.com and dnsomatic.com using the same user/pass as ddns on the synology.
error below: Any ideas?
