I recently got a new ASUS router and I am running Merlin firmware on my router, which I have recently set up to update dnsomatic on a daily basis. I have all.dnsomatic.com set as my hostname.
Now on the dnsomatic end I have it set to update freedns.afraid.org. I looked at the history, all looks well, and it is updating my domain's new IP on freedns.afraid.org.
The problem that I just discovered today, is that my subdomains are not getting updated at freedns.afraid.org. If I ping mydomain.com, I get my current public IP, great. However, if I ping subdomain.mydomain.com, I am getting my old IP. This is the case with all my subdomains that I have set up (12).
On freedns.afraid.org, all my subdomains are simply set up as web forwards that forward to my domain and a port number, ie subdomain.mydomain.com forwards to https://www.mydomain.com:1234.
Before I got my new ASUS router I had a similar setup using a Tomato router, except I didn't need to use dnsomatic as a middle man. I could set the router to update directly to freedns.afraid.org, and it updated everything -- domain & all subdomains.
Am I doing something wrong here? What can I do to fix this problem? Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks
