If this is your manual, then you would configure the resolver addresses in the DNS fields as from page 27 on.  If you still see other non-OpenDNS resolver addresses, then these may be hardcoded in the end devices, or your router firmware has a bug.  Try with the latest firmware then or contact D-Link support.

Before you take any efforts regarding your router, ensure that your ISP does not redirect your DNS queries:
    nslookup -type=txt which.opendns.com.  208.67.220.220

If they do, your router settings will not take effect.

I did reboot and reset the Comcast device.

I am not sure why however, we are now working, filtering pages and have a "yes" on the OpenDNS updater.

    I ran "nslookup -type=txt which.opendns.com.  208.67.220.220"

    C:\Windows\system32>nslookup -type=txt which.opendns.com. 208.67.220.220
    Server: resolver2.opendns.com
    Address: 208.67.220.220

    Non-authoritative answer:
    which.opendns.com text =

    "11.ash"

So for the moment we seem to be OK.

    Thank you

And now 10 min later we are down.

Still connected to the internet but when at http://www.opendns.com/welcome/ i get the "Oops" page.

Nothing was changed or reset or off and on.

Then post the complete output of the following command:

    "11.ash"

You can use OpenDNS, and your ISP doesn't redirect your DNS queries.

    DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 208.67.222.222
                                                     208.67.220.220
                                                     75.75.76.76
                                                     75.75.75.75

Yes, beside OpenDNS' you're also using Comcast's DNS servers.  As I initially said "your router firmware has a bug.  Try with the latest firmware then or contact D-Link support" if you got the router from them.  If you got it from Comcast, they may have amended it this way, and you have to contact them, or you may be able to overcome this by flashing the router with D-Link's OEM firmware.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

    Some newb questions...

The Dlink DIR860L is a brand new router I purchased with the newest firmware (ver. 1.04) on the site they only offer up to ver. 1.03.

The RCA DHG536G   is the Comcast device that is adding the 75.75.76.76   / 75.75.75.75.

I called Comcast and there was no interface that allows me to change the DNS entries.

I might have to buy my own cable modem to gain access to all the DNS entry areas within our connections?

Well, you could start to configure the OpenDNS resolver addresses also on the computers:
    https://store.opendns.com/setup/computer/
This would remove the Comcast addresses at least from these computers.

Also, you could try to downgrade the D-Link firmware to v1.03 or earlier to see if this helps.

Or you try to tweak your cable modem in some way:
    http://www.fixya.com/support/p3417855-rca_ca_dhg_536_residential_voip_cable_mo
It is a Thompson device, so the Thompson website may provide firmware and other stuff for it.

Same issue here.  DIR-860L.  IPCONFIG/all shows 4 DNS servers.  First 2 are OpenDNS the next 2 are Comcast DNS.  http://www.opendns.com/welcome/ returns Oops.

    Firmware Version : 1.05

    "Same issue here."

Same answers.  What does D-Link support say?

Tried a CISCO E2500 router and OpenDNS works fine.  D-link support is nearly impossible to contact.  Will try again next week.

When my D-Link DIR-655 turned into a paper weight I picked up a DIR-810L and could not get open DNS to work.  I changed the IPv6 connection to "Local Connectivity Only" and now Open DNS seems to work find.
