The router ip address is not responding, what do I do?

  Let me expound.  I am doing the initial set up for our home, clicked on the router type and then was trying to do step 1 of the setup.

  You'll find out the IP address of your router by e.g. executing "ipconfig" in a Windows command line window, it's the default gateway, or you look into your router's manual to see what to do.

  If you cannot enter it on the router, you can enter it on the computer.
