OpenDNS not working with Comcast even when OpenDNS Updater says it is
Hi,
I have following setup:
1. Comcast Xfinity Internet connection.
2. I have Arris TG862 cable modem. It's in bridge mode.
3. I have Belkin Wireless G Plus (F5D7231-4) wifi router.
4. I have setup OpenDNS IPs in my Belkin router and have disabled "Automatic from ISP" setting.
5. I have installed OpenDNS Updater.
6. OpenDNS Updater says 'Using OpenDNS" is Yes.
7. I still don't get filtering from OpenDNS. Also, stats for my network on OpenDNS show no DNS requests coming to OpenDNS.
What I am missing? Any suggestions or thoughts?

In the past month, Comcast here in the Northeast U, according to Comcast tech support, has disallowed "turning off of IPv6" and they tell me I must use their own automatically assigned IPv6 DNS addresses. When I turn off IPv6, our service degrades and our home network setup has problems. Is any further work being done on this?

Is any further work being done on what? OpenDNS fixing Comcast's issues? That is a Comcast issue that they'll have to resolve themselves.
This is situation is just one of many reasons why I tell people to never rely on the router provided by an ISP. You should also be purchasing and using a router of your own, that is connected to the modem or modem/router provider by your ISP. In this case you could leave IPv6 turned on on the Comcast equipment, but so long as it also isn't turned on for your own router, you are free to configure things how *you* want, including using only IPv4 traffic, and using the DNS servers of your choice.
Plus, if you use your own router you can set your home network up exactly how you want, regardless of ISP, and you can even change ISP's without having to change how your home network is configured. You can buy a good one for as low as about $50.
