Show status says not using DNS--what do I need to do

Without knowing more details I'd say it's because you haven't properly configured your network or device to use OpenDNS. Either follow the links on the homepage that lead to instructions on configuring things to use OpenDNS, or search in this forum for specific directions on how to configure your device or router for OpenDNS.

If you want to selectively filter what you block and how OpenDNS works for you, you will need to create an OpenDNS account and register your IP address with that account. Again, the directions I referred to above will tell you how to do that.
