  If you mean firmware updates, this area is solely with Netgear, not with OpenDNS.
  See http://support.netgear.com/product/AC1450

  If you mean updates to the Genie program, this is also solely with Netgear.
  You'll find the latest version here: http://www.netgear.ie/home/discover/apps/genie.aspx

  If you mean updates to the configuration you did to use OpenDNS, there should be no update or reconfiguration needed as long as you don't reset your router to its factory defaults.

  Or did you mean something different?  If so, can you be more specific?  What updates are you talking about?
