You should open a support ticket to let them know directly.

Pretty sure this is already one of the popular ideas on here.

I suppose we can't find the popular ideas right now.  Judging by the job description for many of the engineers OpenDNS is hiring, I would say they are definitely working on a mobile dashboard.

The current interface is quite awkward for mobile and tablet users. You can still use it but it's awkward so I'd love for an app to be developed. The app doesn't have to have all the bells and whistles. As long as it can:

    1. Customise categories to block
    2. Configure Whitelist and Blacklist
    3. Update IP Address

Nothing else, just those would do. Thanks :)

Add a Windows Phone app too. Not just Apple and Android.

While we don't have specific plans for this yet we recognize the need of many to want to administer their OpenDNS account and settings via mobile devices.  Whether this will take the shape of native applications or a mobile friendly Dashboard is yet to be determined.

As this progresses further, we'll continue to post information and updates to this thread.

May i suggest a simple web interface first.. Say (1) checking for ip address, (2) Web Filtering to begin with.

Please be advised do not allow anyway besides already available to someone to possibly compromise your Security service. The less open holes the better in any Network control situation.

Well, I think the menu must not to much on OpenDNS mobile version, just profile, networks, and web filtering.

If OpenDNS has an API, I'd volunteer to create the mobile app.

I think there may already be a mobile version, I'll have to confirm that though.

You're still posting in this thread with topic "Create a mobile friendly way to administer OpenDNS" in the "Idea Bank" section.  Didn't see?

What about to open your own thread in e.g. the "Community Help" section?

The basics on mobile would suffice. Whitelist/blacklist and update IP would be great as a start.

"Update IP" most likely not.  You don't want to break your settings while registering random IP addresses from a roaming device for your network, do you?

Don't make a app - just make more mobile-friendly web site.  Item such as login are hard on the small screen.

You're able to add OpenDNS to your iOS device.  Settings -> Wi-Fi -> {Your Network}  (Hit the small blue arrow) -> DNS

Modify that to 208.67.222.222 or 208.67.220.220

I would like an app :D

As a home wifi user(dynamic IP) with a TV portal, it would be great to have an openDNS updater App, instead of having to fire up computer.

"instead of having to fire up computer."

You don't have to.  Many devices have a built-in updater supporting also DNS-O-Matic, OpenDNS or "user defined".  Use this instead!

"to have an openDNS updater App"

I think you don't want "to fire up computer"?  Also a smart phone is just a computer, didn't know?  So, where should this "App" be running on if not a computer?

I couldn't agree more. I think is would be great to be able to update the Dynamic IP of a home router-based wifi network from a mobile device. The App would need to be manual so that people who access roaming networks could do so without registering and people with "internet of things" devices such as smart TVs, etc do not have to fire up a computer just to send a dynamic IP to OpenDNS.

Of course you would have to allow that other people have enough intelligence to know what kind of network they are using?
