Blocking sites by keyword
Not plannedI came across a domain http://www.upornpics.com/ in my logs. I have pornography blocked, but this site resolved because it has not been categorized before. I submitted it for tagging. To prevent things like this in the future, could settings be added to the dashboard so that sites with keywords such as "porn", "xxx", or "sex" be blocked when that domain is uncategorized? Hitting only uncategorized domains would prevent sites such as xxxchurch.com (a Christian site against pornography) from being blocked.

That xxxchurch.com is a really bad site. :(
The site expresses an unhealthy attitude towards the human sexuality. Very indoctrinate pretending to work on Christian and commonly accepted principles, which isn't the case. This site is for sure not suitable for minors. They could get a bad conscience about the human sexuality, especially through the suggestive and indoctrinate character of the site.
It would be good to get it included in keyword blocking if not categorized otherwise. And it is good that it also belongs to the Adult Themes category.

"You can vote your opinion here:"
Nothing to vote for me, it's already as I would expect it to be.
"This forum isn't the place to debate the merits of individual domains."
Agreed. Your started with it. Then please don't mention such questionable and dangerous sites to attract peoples' attention to it, and nobody needs to react on it.

"I didn't start it."
Quoting you: "Except when you realize that xxxchurch.com was once uncategorized (interestingly this site is classifed as "Health and Fitness")."
So what? Again, please don't mention such questionable and dangerous sites to attract peoples' attention to it, and nobody needs to react on it.
And yes, "Pay attention and stay on topic please."

The domain was being used an an example of something that would be mis-categorized based on a keyword filter and as such was appropriate to use as an example. The sites views on on human sexuality are not in question at this point, simply that it would be mis-categorized.
At this time there are no plans for keyword filters. They have been proven unreliable time after time. Instead we use the information we gather from DNS plus the feedback from the community in our Domain Tagging system to drive our content categorization system. You can contribute yourself by voting on domains which will help get them pushed to moderators and staff for approval. Please check the FAQ for more information on how Domain Tagging works.
