Would it be possible to play an audio file on the blocked web page.  Kind of like a sound of shame (fog horn etc).  That way we as parents can hear the alarms!

  If the domain which hosts the audio file is not blocked by your settings, you'll be certainly able to play it.  If you are concerned, block the domain individually or by its category, as usual and with everything.
