Does the personals section of craigslist have a domain name that is different from the rest of craigslist?

If it doesn't there is nothing that OpenDNS can do because it only works with domain names, not URL's. If it does OpenDNS is already capable of blocking that. You just need to add that domain name to your blacklist.

Adding to Matt's answer, the personals are always under location.craigslist.TLD/i/personals where location.craigslist.TLD is the domain.  So you can block Craigslist by location and by country, or by country as a whole, e.g. chicago.craigslist.org blocks the Chicago site, or craigslist.org blocks all US sites.

To block the Personals especially, you see if your router allows for URL blocking and add /i/personals to this blocking list.

"Please allow that that content can be filtered"

With a DNS service you cannot filter content, because a DNS service doesn't know about content, just about domain names.

I used to be able to block the personals with my router, but craigslist went all secure (https), so that does not work anymore. I am interested in setting up a man-in-the-middle with my router with gargoyle firmware, but I do not know how to do it.

MIM is very difficult to setup right, and once it's working you'll have to continually update / fix it because it's a constant cat & mouse game with the big tech sites always changing something in their SSL certs, which breaks MTM (i.e., squid proxy), you fix MTM, and they make another change..etc, etc. However, if you're up to it you'll learn a lot about how the Internet works.

At the end of the day however, it might be easier to simply block / allow access to CL using tools like kibosh cloud which has an option to schedule access to sites, and set time limits on devices. So although we can't filter inside CL, or Google, or eBay, etc - we can, with the right tool, 1) see it's being accessed, and 2) limit access to these sites during work hours, and not at times when access causes problems.
