Updater timed exit
Add an option to OpenDNS Updater to exit after a certain time, e.g. 5 minutes, or on completion of an update. Once it has done its job it really doesn't need to hang around the tray chatting with the other apps and distracting them from their important work. =)
And what and how should trigger it again to monitor for IP address changes?
Btw, it tries to chat with other apps in no way and doesn't distract anything from important work.
If you need a silent updater working in the background only, go for Marc's Updater (https://updater.marc-hoersken.de/).
I see what you mean. This is not what any Updater could do for you. They are supposed to run all time to monitor for IP address changes. If you want it stopped after having done its job initially, you would have to stop it manually or by some scheduled task.
What you want to achieved is best covered with a browser bookmark which you could invoke automatically at each system startup and login:
This would exactly do what you want it to do. You don't need an Updater for this.
