DNS blocking sites/categories I purposely did not select

It may well be because some sites are categorized under multiple labels.

Many sites that are swimware related are (far too often) tagged as pornography.

Check the block screen or your logs to see why the site is blocked. You may whitelist the site or vote to remove incorrect tags.

Thank you for your reply! :)  On the "blocked by DNS" screen, it said that it was blocked because it was listed under lingerie/swimwear, but didn't mention pornography as far as the tags went.  I then tried whitelisting the domain, and allowed it ample time to "take", but still no go. :(  I'm not sure what else to do...

Maybe your current IP address is registered with another network, and you're using the settings of the other network instead of yours?
Check at https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/ if this is the case, and update your IP address information accordingly.

Or the blocked sites have more categories assigned than you think they have?  Check them at http://community.opendns.com/domaintagging/

If you have still problems, post the complete plain text output of the following commands here:

    nslookup -type=txt debug.opendns.com.
    nslookup www.example.com.
where www.example.com is such a domain which is blocked, but shouldn't.

"it said that it was blocked because it was listed under lingerie/swimwear"

No, this is not what it says. It says "This site is categorized as...". There is no "because", because the block page doesn't know the reason why it is blocked for you, it just has the information about what categories a site belongs to.

"I then tried whitelisting the domain, and allowed it ample time to "take", but still no go."

After each settings change you must flush both, your local resolver cache and your browser cache. Else you are served out of your caches. "Allow it ample time to take" is not sufficient.

I didn't think my paraphrasing would be an issue for anyone.  I also flushed the local resolver cache and browser cache.  Your information could be helpful, but the patronizing tone is not.

What exact phrase was patronizing for you? I'm not a native English speaker, and feedback can help me to improve my English.

As you didn't provide the command outputs, I'm sure everything is solved. Glad to hear that it works now.
