Why am I am throwing to open-dns (websiteunavailabile.com) when trying to access local networked application?
Hi,
I have windows PC converted as local server in my home. And have wifi router through which the server is connected (wired connection from wifi router) to server pc. I have Laptop which is connected through wifi. When trying to access local pc server application it was working fine. I was trying to access the local pc server application from my laptop is \\PCServer:8080\Myapp
it was working fine. Mistakenly today I typed the above address in my lapyop as \\PCServer:8080.com\Myapp
That's it. it is throwing me to open dns even if I trying to access with actual \\PCServer:8080\Myapp access.
What is the issue? How I can reset this? I tried cleaning browsing history but no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The issue is that you apparently have the OpenDNS resolver addresses configured on the computers or on the DHCP/LAN side of the router. Therefore you send your internal lookups out to OpenDNS, this not being able to respond as you expect, so they respond with an OpenDNS IP address for Guide redirection in case the lookup came from a browser.
Try with configuring the resolver addresses on the WAN side of your router. If this does not help:
In order to receive NXDOMAIN responses for your internal names from OpenDNS, you'll want to add your internal names to the VPN exceptions list.
http://www.opendns.com/support/article/99.That would be illegal syntax anyway, under each circumstance.
