"Open DNS is blocking my calendar sharing functions on our mac."

No, OpenDNS generally blocks nothing by default except phishing and some botnet sites.  That is your OpenDNS settings blocking it. So first thing would be to review your settings, what exactly blocks iCloud and maybe remove this category from blocking. You can find this information in your domain stats.

"I have added "never block www.icloud.com" but it does not resolve the problem."

Did you assume iCloud hosts everything under the www.icloud.com subdomain? Far not! You have to unblock all domains where their content is hosted. Especially, I would whitelist icloud.com, not just www.icould.com which would allow just this.

"Are there other domain names that need to be "never blocked"?"

Yes, there may be totally other domains involved needed to be whitelisted depending on what you have blocked with your settings. As said, your domain stats may give further insight. Or use a DNS sniffer like http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/dns_query_sniffer.html (for Windows) to find it out.  (I don't know one for Mac OSX).

I have the same issue... Contacted Apple support, and they said my email and notes were being blocked somehow.  router and modem work fine with iCloud until OpenDNS is set up - then iCloud mail and notes cease working.  This really needs fixed.  I asked apple for a list of ports in case that was it, but none are blocked.  How do we get this resolved?

    "I have the same issue..."

    I have the same answer...

Didn't read my answer above on how to solve it?  What is missing?  Ok, expanding my answer above:

You visit your domain stats: https://dashboard.opendns.com/stats/all/blockeddomainsYou identify blocked domains related to the iCould service and change your configuration to not block them anymore.
