If you had blocked the Onion Dating site with your settings and the banner was hosted on the Onion Dating site, then the banner would have been blocked, else it would have been blocked only if it was hosted on another site being blocked by your settings.

If you had blocked the Onion Dating site with your settings and the banner was displayed (because it was hosted on another site), then you would have seen the block page as soon as you clicked the banner.

The DNS protocol does not contain information about URLs or objects (images, videos, etc), it contains just domain names. So OpenDNS just sees domain names it can block, not any other objects.

    That said...

You can't with the OpenDNS stats.  Even more, the OpenDNS stats are not about web browsing, but about all and any DNS lookups any networking application may raise within your network.
