OpenDNS blocks more than I want

OpenDNS blocks nothing except botnets and phishing  and what you have configured for your network. If it seems it does, you may not have registered your current IP address with your network, but another user may (still) have registered it with his network, so that his settings take place.

Can you please be more specific as to why you think it blocks more than you configured? Any example domain names?

Allright, thanks for your response. I'll be more specific.

I've set up one IP adress and that's the IP of my own laptop. When I choose te filtering level it doesn't seem to filter what I choose. So even if I choose to block nothing, it still keeps blocking sites. Do I have the wrong DNS number or what could it be?

"I've set up one IP adress and that's the IP of my own laptop."

This sounds like a wrong activity and dangerous.  And you still didn't provide examples of domain names.

    1. Where exactly did you "set up" what IP address of your laptop?
    2. Or do you mean you configured the OpenDNS resolver addresses 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 on your laptop only?
    3. How exactly does this blocking of sites look like?  What is the text or error message being displayed?
    4. What message do you see if you visit http://welcome.opendns.com/ ?

If you don't know what you did or what you should answer, simply copy & paste the complete plain text output of the following commands to here, and I can try to see where your problem is.

    nslookup -type=txt debug.opendns.com.
    ipconfig /all

    1. I followed this guide to setup everything: https://store.opendns.com/setup/operatingsystem/windows-8

    2. Lately I've changed te dns adresses back to 208.67.222.123 and 208.67.220.123 on one of my computers to see If it change anything but it doesn't.

    3. I now have the settings on blocking nothing but when I go to a site like 'metbabes.com' I've got the following message:

Sorry, but metbabes.com is blocked on this network.

This site was categorized in: Pornography, Nudity, Adult Themes, Lingerie/Bikini

    Contact your network administrator

And when I turn the settings on blocking only 'pornography' and 'nudity' It still blocks when it only contains 'Adult themes' or 'Lingerie/Bikini'...

    4. When I visit http://welcome.opendns.com/, I get the following message:

    Welcome to OpenDNS!

Your Internet is safer, faster, and smarter
    because you're using OpenDNS.

    Thank you!

"Lately I've changed te dns adresses back to 208.67.222.123 and 208.67.220.123"

This explains everything. You're using the OpenDNS FamilyShield resolver addresses which block indeed everything "adult" related. You should use the normal OpenDNS resolver addresses, 208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220, 208.67.222.220, 208.67.220.222.  Then flush your caches, and the phantom is gone.
