IP is in use by other user on OpenDNS
Recently switched ISPs and the new ISP's ips all seem to be in use by another user (or so the OpenDNS Dynamic DNS update utility on windows tells me). I have a hunch that the ISP is NATing several users into one (as we are running low on IPv4 addresses worldwide), but I am not 100% sure. My account has since gone 'inactive' and I don't see anyway of plugging in my IP manually. Can OpenDNS help with this? What should I do? Thanks!

Thanks, will do.
The gateway gets rebooted twice daily (only have so much fuel for our generator) so our ip bounces around, but usually is of the 192.168 variety (which makes me think we are being NATed). This doesn't match 'whatismyip.com', so further evidence. I'll open that support ticket, because I kind of an interested in who is using my IP and gives me ammunition when I go back to the ISP and ask for something.

Yep. If you get such an RFC-1918 (private) IP address assigned by your ISP, you can't register this IP address with an OpenDNS network, never, of course. And your public IP address is most likely a shared one, and OpenDNS will block this (range) from being able to be registered with an OpenDNS network anyway. So you can't register this either.
That said, you can't use the enhanced features of OpenDNS like content filtering and stats and such. I.e,. your dashboard settings cannot take effect, and you do not need to run an Updater. You can still use OpenDNS for pure DNS, and in conjunction with the FamilyShield resolver addresses configured, you can get some pre-defined content filtering too. These are your options with this type of internet connection, not more, not less.
