question about stats reporting
I'm a bit curious about something regarding the stats reporting. I understand that it doesn't show you the full url of a website visited, and I also understand that some stats are not necessarily websites you specifically went to, and that they are just the dns lookups you're computer is doing. However, I've been having some issues with some members of my household trying to use YouTube as a means of getting around the adult content block. I know that I could block youtube altogether, but I'd rather not do that. Here's my question. I see several incidents on *.youtube.com being reported in my stats each day, but the people in my house are insisting that they haven't been to the site. Is there another reason these could be showing up? For instance, sometimes when you browse the web, you'll find embeded youtube content in a webpage. If you landed on a page that contained something like this, would it then report the youtube site in my stats? I'm just trying to determine if people are being truthful with me, or if I need to end up blocking youtube altogether.

Yes, exactly this. You say it. And having DNS pre-fetching enabled in your browsers which is rather the default nowadays adds to this.
