Twitter block

Because unlike with Tumblr all Twitter "profiles" are hosted under the domain (or, you cannot block Twitter profiles with OpenDNS.  OpenDNS sees only domain names from you and therefore can block based on domain names only, not URLs (like or any other objects or keywords.  You can block Twitter as a whole only with OpenDNS.

Some routers can block also by URL or keywords.  An own internal proxy server or PAC file is another solution.

This is getting to be a huge problem as twitter, tumblr and others don't seem to mind people posting porn on their domain.

If it's getting to be a problem for you then you do what OpenDNS is designed for and block the categories or domains that you don't want accessed from your network.
