Do I need the Dynamic IP Updater Client?
Hello All!
I already configured OpenDNS on my router and tested it, and worked like a charm. Now, since I already enabled "Dynamic IP Update" on my account... Do I still need to install the Dynamic IP Updater Client on my home server in case my ISP change my IP or enabling ip update on my account is enough?

So, I have a new NetGear c6300 with live parental control functions that can link directly to my openDNS account. Do i still need an updater client installed? I read elsewhere that the updater is only for configurations on the PC not if you are configuring routers with the openDNS info. Can someone confirm? please advise. Thank you!

With Netgear routers and LPC enabled you must not run an updater.
Even more, you must delete your dashboard network at https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/
Your dashboard is only at https://netgear.opendns.com/ now."the updater is only for configurations on the PC not if you are configuring routers with the openDNS info."
This information in general is wrong. An updater is neither for PC configurations, nor many routers support IP address information updates for OpenDNS. Netgear LPC is a special case. In all other cases you must run an updater. It doesn't have to be this Updater from OpenDNS but can be any other capable doing the job.
