I rather suspect that OpenDNS is fixing problems in those categories (mass-mistagging, rogue moderator [wild speculation], something or other) or altering the categories themselves.

IIRC, you couldn't  see these categories at all if you were not logged in, but clearly you are. I also cannot see the same categories, so some sort of maintenance or moratorium is happening for reasons currently known only to the PTB.

I rather suggest opening a ticket on this matter to have an official answer.

    Thanks

Good idea, I'll raise a ticket now.

    Cheers

I see these categories now.  Did you ensure that you were logged in from the IP address registered with your OpenDNS network?

That's probably it. You know, my IP changed for the first time in years. I had stopped running an updater entirely.

-Wow, since November 2009 until probably 2 weeks ago when the ISP kept dropping the broadband connection. Should have checked, but nothing ever renewed the IP before.

    Hi,

Make sure that you're logged into your OpenDNS account when looking for the category "Adult Themes". Once you have logged in the category should appear.

    Best regards,

Just to be clear, I have to be signed in actually from the network that I'm registered with on OpenDNS.... it won't work if I sign in somewhere else.

    Yes?

I have the exact same problem.  There are no adult categories (nudity, sexuality, pornography, etc.)  that show up when I'm trying to vote on undecided domains.  Those are the categories that I'm most concerned about protecting my family from, so they're the ones I'm most interested in voting on.  I'm signed in through my home network, and they just never show up.  Am I doing something wrong?

Something may be wrong with your configuration.  Post the complete plain text output of the following command:

       nslookup -type=txt debug.opendns.com.

When I enter that command, a black window opens and then closes itself so fast I have no way of seeing what any text says.

That's the command prompt. You need to open it first, then you can run the commands from there and see the output.

    Here's what I get:

    Server:  Unknown
    Address:  fd47 : f5de : 45e0 : 1 : fa8f : caff :  fe13 : 300

*** Unknown can't find debug.opendns.com: no response from server

The address you shared with us appears to be an incomplete IPv6 address. My guess is that you missed a final zero.

OpenDNS only supports IPv4 traffic for purposes of filtering, although they do have IPv6 DNS servers that *only* response to recursive DNS requests, but provide no other OpenDNS features. If you want to use OpenDNS you'll need to disable your IPv6 on the public internet, but you can still keep it enabled on your private LAN.
