I will give as much detail as I can, but I am helping a friend of a friend, I only have x amount of info at this time.
Here is the scenario:
Existing restaurant has a wifi hot spot setup, coming off of a wifi router from the ISP. I am not sure of the exact model, but as of now I am told that this is the model
There is no computer on the network and it is a dynamic connection. I know that some routers come with the OpenDNS software built in, but I am not sure if it would be able to login to the OpenDNS service if it is a secondary router. I'd imagine that the second router would connect to the network via one of the LAN ports and not the WAN port. In my experience, some of the router services won't work if the WAN port is not being used.
It might be possible to put the first router into bridge mode, but I have not been able to confirm that and I would like to have the backup plan ready to go.
Will any new netgear router come with the OpenDNS updater software or do I need to have him look for specific models (with LPC)?
edit- i am not worried about double NAT.
