Can I block Facebook just for my 13 year old devices, and have a way my wife and I can use it??

Wait, your devices are 13 years old??  Oh, you mean the devices used by your 13 year old (sorry, my bad.... need coffee)

Yes.  You can.   You can configure the devices to only use OpenDNS and block FB there, whereas the parent's devices will not have OpenDNS.

How do I configure the devices to use OpenDNS?  I know where to go in a router. Her main computer is a Mac.

Thanks for reading between the lines, I need coffee!!

If i setup it up on her computer, will that mess up with her school web filtering.  I think they use some kind of DNS block at a router level.

The school might be using OpenDNS too. If they're using OpenDNS, configuring the local DNS to our resolvers will not mess with their web filtering. However, that's only if they're using OpenDNS at the school, we would need more information to make a definitive answer.

If you want to be sure and to block only facebook, edit the /etc/hosts file on her Mac and add the following line at the end:

    0.0.0.0  facebook.com  www.facebook.com  m.facebook.com

Then you don't need OpenDNS to block this, and it works everywhere, and it doesn't interfere with anything else.
