Why do filter setting changes take much longer than the "3 minutes" to update?

Hi,

When I make setting changes to my account a message is displayed saying that the changes will take 3 minutes to update on the servers. However I'm finding that it takes much longer than this. I timed a change earlier today at over 6 minutes - which is quite a long time when I'm sitting at my PC hitting reload after reload.

Can anyone tell me why?

  The first and most obvious suggestion is that you are not flushing your browser and local resolver caches after changes.   If you are, and this behavior does not seem like a one-time occurrence, you should open a support ticket.
