Logging in from another location after setting up OpenDNS
I have a question. I have setup successfully Opendns at home and then I went to work and logged in to the OpenDNS website and it shows my work IP address. If i then make changes to the web-filtering will it not take effect at my home location or will it? Or can i only make changes WHEN im at home only? I'm a bit confused how this works.
Also does logging in from a remote location render the web filtering inactive at the home location or does it remain active even if i login from another location?
Let me know

"I went to work and logged in to the OpenDNS website and it shows my work IP address."
Sure, such web pages always show your current location's IP address wherever you are. This is normal.
"If i then make changes to the web-filtering will it not take effect at my home location or will it?"
It will take effect at your home location. Where else?
Be careful to not update the IP address information of your dashbard network with the off-site IP address information though. This would render your settings for your home network to no longer take effect."Or can i only make changes WHEN im at home only?"
You can make changes to the settings from wherever you are.
"Also does logging in from a remote location render the web filtering inactive at the home location or does it remain active even if i login from another location?"
No, your settings remain active at home.

This is the green arrows icon at https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/ between the IP address registered for your home and the IP address where you currently are. Do not click this when abroad!
And this can be also an Updater running on your roaming device. Do not install and run an Updater on roaming devices!

Ok thanks That worked. I went home, logged and unchecked Dynamic IP and re-associated the IP address. Then on my work PC i had someone uninstall the IP updater as well and reboot my work PC. Now when i login at work it shows the local IP but the opendns IP address remains my HOME pc! This is is what I wanted.
So the rule of thumb is never install the updater is you want to access remotely and NEVER click on the swirling green arrows because it will render the OPENDNS settings at the main location inoperable and deactivate it
