Have opendns at my house... son goes to mom's house

Hi, I have OpenDNS setup via my router so my 14yo son is protected when he's at my house. However, when he travels to his mom's house he is not protected.

Can I just add the OpenDNS domain servers to his Wifi and LAN settings or does his mom need to register her own home with OpenDNS?

  The latter, because the mom's IP address need to be registered with a separate OpenDNS network for settings to take effect, and better configure the OpenDNS resolver addresses on mom's router.  If you configured them on his roaming device, DNS may not work in certain networks which may not allow for 3rd party DNS services.
