""Sorry, www.dailymotion.com has been blocked by your network administrator.
This site was categorized in: Video Sharing, Nudity, Pornography, Adult Themes" .. really??
    "

There was a recent discussion about that.  I can't find the thread anymore.  :(
    It may have been deleted.

Flag the domain for review at http://domain.opendns.com/dailymotion.com
    Open a support ticket.
For immediate effect, add dailymotion.com to your "never block" list.

Btw, ebay.com is not approved in a category Social Networking.  http://domain.opendns.com/ebay.com
Not sure why you posted that useless picture.  Just that one user has proposed (tagged) this domain as Social Networking doesn't mean anything except that this user has some non-common understanding of what ebay is about.

"So this makes me wonder if this community 'tagging' is being verified by opendns somehow"

Yes, it is, as far as I have seen.  It seems you don't understand how this works:

Sorry dude, but maybe YOU didn't understand what I'm saying. "the useless" ebay pic I posted, is a hint on how most tagging REALLY works, and ignorance is NOT bliss in this situation. If you know, you tag/vote. If you don't either pass or check and verify. But unfortunately this doesn't work this way, and I can see it in how many domains are blocked from my filtering (when they shouldn't be) and how many aren't (when they should be) . Get the point now?

The problems as I see them are:
    a. too few tags/classifications
    b. many ignorant/malignant(?) users
    c. lack of verification before approval

if I am mistaken .. and you could prove me wrong then I apologize.

"If you don't either pass or check and verify."

I don't do.  I'm just a user, not a domain tagging moderator or OpenDNS staff.

Well, this community tagging is manually by humans, and these are often in error and mistaken.  This is how we and you are.  Did you think that humans are perfect?

I'm not sure about the threshold, but I think it needs at least five >yes> votes over "no" votes to appear in a moderator queue, and a moderator is to finally approve a domain for a category.  These moderators are supervised by OpenDNS staff.  This sounds pretty robust, but still is full of human errors, as you have seen.

I say it again, you open a support ticket containing

    • "I can see it in how many domains are blocked from my filtering (when they shouldn't be) and"
    • "how many aren't (when they should be)"

OpenDNS staff will process your lists or forward them to a proven domain tagging moderator.  So far the experience I made as a user like you.

Btw, you're far not the first, and your concerns have been raised quite often here.  I leave it with you to search for related threads.

    Get the point now?

"this community tagging is manually by humans, and these are often in error and mistaken. "
The Humans as you call them, should be at the very least be knowledgeable on what is webspam or what is a business domain or what defines nudity or whatever.  My point is just that: Most users just aren't apparently ._

Not having a go at the "community" but I would simply suggest that either OpenDNS staff do a better verification add 'staff' to verify tags before finalization of tagging.
