Network Already Exists

The issue may be because you registered your current IP address information with your other account's network already.

Best is to open a support ticket to get your older OpenDNS account deleted or reregistered with another e-mail address (Yahoo mail is lousy!), and to get your current IP address information cleared out and released.

I am getting this, too, and I definitely only have one OpenDNS account. I changed broadband provider and deleted my network set up so that I could recreate it for my new service provider. Now I can't add my network and I can't configure my settings.

If you are getting the error message "Network Already Exists", this means that another OpenDNS user currently has the IP address in question registered to their account. In this case I would recommend that you open a support ticket so we can research who has the IP address registered, and if they're still using the IP address.

I have this problem as well, and I can't reach sites I used to be able to. I definitely have a dynamic IP address. I suspect another user also has a dynamic IP, created settings for it, and now that the IP address is assigned to me I'm stuck with those settings and can't change them. Isn't this a general problem when users of dynamic IP addresses create settings for their network, and then their IP address changes? This seems like a major flaw in the openDNS model.

"Isn't this a general problem when users of dynamic IP addresses create settings for their network, and then their IP address changes?"

Yes, this tends to be a general problem although OpenDNS have counter-measures.  For example, if an IP address for a network hasn't been updated for a longer time, and another user requests this IP address, then the other network will be set as "inactive" and the requesting user can register the IP address information.

"This seems like a major flaw in the openDNS model. "

Rather a flaw of the internet model or a user problem, where users don't keep their IP address information updated at OpenDNS.  But you're welcome to raise your suggestions.

I have the same problem, and im pretty sure this is the first time i register in OpnDns using this network. I already raised a ticket regarding this issue, When can I expect the release of my Network IP to be able to set my Open DNS account.

    Please advice.

    Cheers

This can take up to 72 hours.

You can try to obtain another IP address from your ISP by rebooting the ISP facing device.  If you got another IP address this way, visit https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/ to sync the IP address information with your network.
