Why do you think that this is related to OpenDNS?  How exactly does it look like to "no longer surf eBay"?  Any error message or what?

Hi, it's just a suspicion. I googled the problem and it seems sometimes OpenDNS blocks certain domains including eBay. What I mean is that I can sometimes just get to the mainpage or any page on eBay. But then further clicking on links within the site, those pages won't load. I've tried looking at blocked domains in OpenDNS but for now all I get is the 'Oops! We don't have any data for you. Try searching a larger range or go surf the net to generate some data.' message.

"it seems sometimes OpenDNS blocks certain domains including eBay."

LOL.  Only if you block it with your dashboard settings.  OpenDNS doesn't block anything by itself.  And if it would be blocked by your settings, you would see the OpenDNS block page.

"What I mean is that I can sometimes just get to the mainpage or any page on eBay. But then further clicking on links within the site, those pages won't load."

Won't load doesn't mean that it's necessarily a DNS problem, but could be a problem with Ebay too.  You had to see with DNS tools like nslookup whether or not the domain resolves to an IP address.

"all I get is the 'Oops! We don't have any data for you. Try searching a larger range or go surf the net to generate some data.' message."

This would indicate that you haven't stats and logs enabled under Advanced Settings, or that you don't use OpenDNS at all.

    Do you use OpenDNS?  http://welcome.opendns.com/

LOL thanks for taking the time to teach a noob... as you can tell, I'm new to all of this. It is not a problem with eBay as when I use another internet connection from other places there is no problem surfing eBay at all. Only happens in my home.

I have enabled stats for my IP but am still getting no data as of today. Erm, I've used OpenDNS's DNS on my router and my laptop, doesn't that count as using OpenDNS?

"I have enabled stats for my IP but am still getting no data as of today."

Then you may not be using OpenDNS, or your IP address is not registered with your dashboard network.

"I've used OpenDNS's DNS on my router and my laptop, doesn't that count as using OpenDNS?"

This counts only if visiting http://welcome.opendns.com/ confirms that you're using OpenDNS.

You may want to post the complete plain text output of the following command here:

    nslookup -type=txt debug.opendns.com.

Then it's confirmed that I am using OpenDNS because it says that I am. Sorry, where did you need me to post that text? In Terminal? If so this is what I get:

    Server:        208.67.222.222
    Address:    208.67.222.222#53

    Non-authoritative answer:
    debug.opendns.com    text = "server 1.sin"
    debug.opendns.com    text = "flags 20 0 2f4 4000800000000000000"
    debug.opendns.com    text = "id 0"
    debug.opendns.com    text = "source 175.145.106.185:61263"

You're using OpenDNS, location Singapore, but not your dashboard settings, because your IP address 175.145.106.185 is not registered with your dashboard network.
    https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/
If you want your dashboard settings, you must register your IP address, and you must keep it updated with an Updater.

Now, to see if there's a DNS problem with Ebay, post the complete plain text output of the following commands:

    nslookup ebay.com.

    nslookup www.ebay.com.

But I had already previously registered my IP address and had dynamic IP update checked. Anyways, I've also just downloaded and installed the OpenDNS Updater.

    typing nslookup ebay.com gives me:

    Server:        208.67.222.222
    Address:    208.67.222.222#53

    Non-authoritative answer:
    Name:    ebay.com
    Address: 66.211.160.88
    Name:    ebay.com
    Address: 66.211.160.87
    Name:    ebay.com
    Address: 66.135.216.190

    nslookup www.ebay.com. gives me:

    www.ebay.com    canonical name = www.g.ebay.com.
    Name:    www.g.ebay.com
    Address: 66.211.181.181
    Name:    www.g.ebay.com
    Address: 66.135.210.61
    Name:    www.g.ebay.com

    Name:    www.g.ebay.com
    Address: 66.211.181.161

These are Ebay's real IP addresses.  Your problem is not DNS related.  It must be something with your internet connection.
