I think I fixed it.  Changed the settings.  I had it set to the most extreme setting, downgraded one step and now the games work.  Hope this helps someone in the future.

Yes, the "high" level also includes the Games category.  Didn't you "view" what categories are affected with what level?  "High" may include a lot of stuff which you don't want to have blocked.

Better use the "Custom" level then where you can configure much more granular what you want to have blocked.

No I didnt "view" the categories.  I put this together in quite a hurry.  But I do see now how the custom set up works.  I had no idea something like opendns could block such specific things.

If you didn't have any idea OpenDNS could block such specific things why did you decided to use it in the first place?

It's a technology security product. Whether antivirus or web filtering these should not be installed and applied in a hurry, especially if you are unfamiliar with the specific product. By their very nature prudence dictates actually taking the time to look it over and pay attention to what you are doing instead of breaking things, complaining it doesn't work, and then wanting others to tell you how to fix it when it wasn't broken in the first place.

WOW!  can someone say internet troll?  I didnt complain or break anything.  I asked a simple question.  Isn't that what a support forum is for??  Any by the way when I look at my dashboard the descriptions under the security levels does not mention "games".  So why dont you piss off and find something more constructive to do with your time.

Strange people doing things in quite a hurry and then wasting time searching for assistance for compensation of their hurry instead of using the same time in the first place to check the functionality.

    "I didnt ... break anything."

You did break your son's ability to play games, didn't you?

"the descriptions under the security levels does not mention "games"."

The descriptions are not supposed to list categories.  Why should they especially list "games"?  Because of you?  This is what the "view" links are for.

@rotblitz, When I said I was in a hurry that didnt mean I didn't do some research.  I spent plenty of time looking into Norton Connectsafe.  After setting up the brand new wifi extender and setting up the dns with connectsafe it would not work.  I spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out why it wouldn't work and stumbled onto opendns.  This seemed itentical to connectsafe.  Set it up and it worked.  It was late at night and went to bed.  Now with connectsafe there is no custom setup and does not filter games.  So my "assumption" was the opendns worked that way also.  My bad.  Now that I have had the time, I took some time to look into all of the different things opendns can do.  I would like to apologize to you folks for wasting your time.  I promise I will never, never, never, ever post another question on this forum asking for support again.

"I promise I will never, never, never, ever post another question on this forum asking for support again."

This is clearly the wrong conclusion, wasn't it?  The right conclusion would have been to post questions only after you took the time to read what's already documented.

Well... Chris, I am looking for the the same solution as t.simpson and am leading a busy life with kids also.   I have just read this and I pretty much think you need to shut down rotblitz for awhile as he seems to be completely full of himself and has acted like a spoiled, pouting, arrogant 9 year old who doesn't want to help anyone, but just makes fun of anyone who don't know as much as he does. Grow up idiot!   People come here for help, not to be slammed by openDNS literate people like you.  Change your attitude, or get off ALL the forums, you're just pumping up your ego yet not helping anyone including openDNS at all.
