Solution: (I wonder why it's not found on any of the topics here...)
I ONLY blocked googlevideo.com and my problems are gone! The youtube app is still accessible but the videos are not  "Connection to server lost. Touch to retry"

I blocked youtube.com but said "NEVER BLOCK" accounts.youtube.com. That resolved the problem in our house.

    Hi truepeace,

l.google.com is a domain accessed by a few of the other Google services as well, which is why you are getting certificate errors when trying to access Gmail. In addition to what the users are suggesting, you can also add these domains to your "never allow" list:

    www.youtube-nocookie.com
    c.youtube.com
    ytimg.l.google.com
    googlesyndication.com

    m.youtube.com

    Hope this helps!
