restricting iMessage from iphones
Even though social networking and chats are disabled in the restrictions, iMessage continues to send/receive text messages. How do we include iMessages in the restrictions

As always in such cases, you add the related domain names to your "always block" list in case iMessage uses DNS at all. If you don't know the domain names, you may be able to identify them by looking at your domain stats.
And, btw, if the connection is through the mobile phone network, you can't use OpenDNS at all. OpenDNS is for networks you own, not for your devices in other networks.

You may not be able to block iMessage with OpenDNS.
