OpenDNS Blocks Site but Shows Links to Ads and Worse!
Hello,
I am just going through my Netgear router settiings and experimenting with OpenDNS Parental Controls. The first porn site I tried was blocked OK but the user was presented with links to advertisements and other crap. One link I clicked on fired up numerous popups etc and required me to kill the iexplorer process.
Obvious question - why does OpenDNS not just show a simple / plain browser window when it has blocked a site?
Cheers

The ads on the block page pay the free service. You can eliminate these ads by local measures, e.g. AdBlock Plus or hosts file entries.

This should not occur. You'll have to open a support ticket with the link in question, so that OpenDNS can have a word with the service provider in charge for the ads.
